Koh Phangan

Koh Phangan Island, Thailand
In 2021, an artist friend and I created a mural on a large wall by the ocean in Koh Phangan, Thailand. Our design blends organic flows of nature, mandala art, esoteric symbols, and Berber patterns.
I painted flowing lines inspired by ocean waves and tropical plants, using vibrant blues, greens, and earth tones. Within these natural elements, I included detailed mandalas with sacred geometry and ancient symbols.
Bold Berber patterns with angular designs and colors like red, black, and white add a striking contrast to the softer natural forms. The mural’s seaside location allows light and water reflections to bring our artwork to life, creating a dynamic visual experience.

In the bustling heart of East Wall, Dublin, the Facebook Artist in Residency program commissioned me to create a large-scale mural for the reception area of their new FB Beckett Building. I adorned the wall with sacred geometry and Islamic patterns, reconstructed in a modern way, and added 3D installations to create an exciting journey for viewers. My work weaves the vibrancy of nature with the precision of the digital frontier, reflecting Facebook's innovative spirit. Each piece, a dialogue between form and color, invites viewers into a transformative space where art meets technology and creativity knows no bounds.

NCAD Grad Show
Dublin, Ireland
For my graduation show at NCAD Dublin, I created a site-specific mural that transformed two rooms into a sanctuary of sacred geometry and three-dimensional flower installations.
The basis of sacred geometry is the Flower of Life, which symbolizes the interconnectedness of all things. This concept is at the heart of my murals, which I envision as portals guiding viewers on an inner journey full of magic, colors, and energy. Each piece is designed to reflect the intrinsic patterns found in nature, encouraging a sense of harmony and oneness.
In this installation, I adorned the walls with intricate patterns inspired by sacred geometry and Islamic designs, reconstructed in a modern way. The geometric forms, combined with three-dimensional flower installations, created an immersive environment that invited contemplation and tranquility. The flowers added a tactile dimension to the space, enhancing the viewer's experience and deepening their connection to the artwork.

This mural, a fusion of tradition and transformation, graces the walls of Osa Mariposa Guest House in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, Mexico.
Completed in April 2022, it features a magnificent butterfly, a symbol of metamorphosis, poised above a series of geometric patterns that ground the piece in the earthy tones of the region's landscape.
The intricate design and vibrant colors reflect the lively spirit of Puerto Escondido, a coastal haven that teems with natural beauty and cultural richness.
Lua's art here is not only a visual feast but a bridge between the local heritage and the mystical journey of change that the butterfly represents.
